What is a Comprehensive Plan?
A big roadmap for how a city wants to grow and develop over time. It looks at things like neighborhoods, parks, roads, and public services to figure out what makes sense for the future. The plan sets goals for things like housing, transportation, and the environment. It also helps the city decide where new businesses or developments should go. Think of it as a guide that helps leaders make smart choices instead of just reacting to problems as they come up. The plan usually gets updated every few years so it can reflect new priorities and changes. It’s all about making the city a better place to live, work, and play for everyone.
Our Strategy
What is a Comprehensive Plan?
The public process began in 2026 with early outreach and pre-planning. The work now expands through public meetings, surveys, interviews, data collection, and continuing opportunities for residents to contribute. What the community shares will inform a draft plan, public review and revision, formal consideration by the Board of Aldermen, and an implementation framework identifying responsibilities, partnerships, funding opportunities, and measures of progress.
